Iβm 26 and I get married in April, weβre having a wedding of 70 people at our favorite park. The wedding in total is going to cost $8000. Everybody I tell whoβs younger than me is horrified by that number and say I spent too much money, everybody who is older than me is impressed and tells me Iβm so smart only spending $8000 on my wedding π. It really shows you the generational differences. I really do think the expensive venues like one my sister used (spent 40k, 25k alone in venue) can be so predatory and scammy. What really saved us a lot of money was doing it at a nice state park, having it earlier in the day so we could get away with a dry wedding, And using a rustic theme, where I can get a lot of the decor from thrift stores. Our biggest expense was the food which was about half of the total budget. Honestly, you can really stretch that $8000 if you plan ahead and try to work with as many local vendors as possible.
