I have never noticed a center stud before. I am going to have to keep an eye out for one. Possibly make something very cool with one of those.

How can a king stud twist if it is nailed next to a jack stud? Then most likely another stud nailed on the other side of the king since if you install a light switch it would be too close to the door frame.
