Kelsey Keener of ‪@SequatchieCoveFarm‬ in Tennessee has been working with nature to provide for his family and heal his soils for over twenty years - and he’s living proof farmers can thrive without falling into the debt cycle of fertilizers, feed, and other expensive inputs.

As Kelsey says “so many farmers at the end of the year… look at how much money they spent on feed and how much money they brought in selling their cattle or sheep, and they’re basically the same.”

Using AMP grazing methods and stacked enterprises, Kelsey is able to thrive while keeping more of the money from every sale in his family’s pocket and the local community’s economy.

That means a better life for him, his neighbors, and his customers who enjoy delicious, healthy produce, cheese, eggs, and meat raised with love for the land and community!

Be sure to follow Sequatchie Cove on Instagram and Youtube - they’re planning to share lots more tips, trick, and stories from one of the most respected regenerative farms in Tennessee!

You know, I’ve never really thought about this. It does seem odd that I always see cows grazing on pastures that look like golf courses. Seeing these cows in 3 to 4 feet of grazing, grasses, and wild plants was pretty awesome.

It is so logical. I wish my family would have done this 60 years ago. The soil for the strawberries would have been healthier. A day late and a dollar short. Better late than never. Thank you, Carbon Cowboys.

been following this channel awhile now! I dont understand everything but saw a documentary last year. Not sure if this group of people but found this natural way of ranching so amazing. In the documentary I was amazed at how much money some had spent on feed and fertilizer and it was toxic. One rancher in th documentary said the climate even started changing over his pastures. it rained more so he didnt have to water it as much. I share this one today back to my page.

Yet, grass fed animal's are at least 3 x's more expensive for way less input.
We've got 5 ready for butcher. 😋

Good managers are rare. Doesn't matter what's being managed. Could be land, property, people, business, or even personal finances. Never realized untill I started working for and with so many bad ones.

Pastures are what cattle and most livestock were meant to eat. Thank you for being an intelligent farmer. ❤

And the cows are happier too. A new adventure every day. Or at least as much of an adventure that a cow would actually enjoy.

Love the simple explanation, good business sense. If the small farms in the industry can reduce expenses to the point of banking money, they could plan for the future and prepare for possible natural disasters.
