I’ve always felt that if your decision to make a different choice in life that affects no one but yourself causes extreme reactions in many…that you’re doing something right. Something I’ve always noticed amongst people is that the stronger the reaction the more they are jealous or trying to prove something because they don’t want to question the choices they’ve made.

Does everyone want to be parent? Certainly not. But it’s a lifestyle that aligns with so many individuals customs and belief systems that choosing not to can make them sometimes question everything they’ve thought or been taught about in life.

Specifically in regards to women, we are more than capable of navigating life solo if desired or needed, our values aren’t necessarily focused on needing a man or children to be successful in our lives. People can believe that our biological clock or hormones will eventually kick in and make us think otherwise, but hypothetically, even if they did, I believe our common sense and critical thinking in terms of reality are a lot stronger.

Some people just can’t wrap their heads around the concept. I’m 34, my partners 30 and we are happily child free.

Glad to see you sticking to your guns. My daughter is 35 and has always said she will be child free. I wholeheartedly have supported her. Hope you have the same support!!

I'm evolving in my childfree choice in the sense that it's becoming more and more obvious that I should not have kids! Lately I've been more observant of parents around me and I can affirm that parenthood is not for everyone, and surely not for me!

Coercion soft or hard has no place in our relationships or society

I am in my teens and I have made it clear to my family that I hate kids, would be a horrible mom, and will never have kids. I would rather die then have kids and they still say “you’ll change your mind.” I’m about to slap someone at this point, do they want me to remove my uterus is put it in a jar as proof.

it's not for everyone!! happiness and fulfillment are not a one-size fits all...i.e. not ALL women want or need to be mothers. it's fascinating how threatened some people feel over folks choosing another path AND being very happy with it...the one that is right for that individual!

Nope. Fuck that. I'll leave it to other mothers to carry on the human race lineage. It stops with me😂

Obv not everyone wants to be a mom, but I do think that fear of commitment is huge and it stops people from living the best lives they can and if it involves being a mother then they should go for it, and they should not let fear hold them back. Our fear should not control us it’s just an emotion, nothing more. There is far much more to gain than to lose by becoming a mother if that’s what a person wants to do. It’s one of those things where if you know you know, but if you don’t know, then you really don’t. I think more people would become mothers if that fear wasn’t so strong for them. Of course there’s still be peeps who don’t wanna be moms too tho, and that’s okay too. What’s matters is that we live our best lives, all together, as a whole species

Ok but why do "child free" people make it their whole personality. Like the people who I know who are.... its literally all they talk about 😂 wouldnt a happy person just live their life? I dont even have kids and it literally never comes up in conversation.
