The 7 Wonders of the Ancient World are related to planets 🪐

In the Ancient world, the 7 day week was based on the planets that could be seen with the naked eye: The sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Yes, they called the sun and the moon a planet.

What’s interesting, is that some of the official Seven wonders of the ancient world can be related to the planets, though there’s nothing anywhere that confirms this is why they made the list. The Colossus of Rhodes is Helios, the Sun god, Artemis was later associated with the moon, The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus has carvings depicting battle scenes on them - bit of a stretch but we can relate that to the Roman god or war, Mars or Ares in ancient Greece, Mercury or Hermes was the messenger of the gods and associated with travel. What does a lighthouse do? Aid travellers. The statue of Zeus is the Greek version of the Roman god Jupiter. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon (or Nineveh if you’ve seen that video) were supposedly built for love - Venus/Aphrodite, anyone? And finally, Saturn or Chronos is associated with time and old age. The Pyramids of Giza were already around 2,000 years old when these wonder lists were created.

Thanks for the compact info delivered here. And there's some reference to the two moons of Mars? So was Mars closer than? Its moons are very small?

Curious. The Flintstones knew about planet Zetox from The Great Gazoo, and considering their era preceded the 7 Wonders, one wonders why it was not included in this galactic association? OH RIGHT! Could not see Zetox with the naked eye.

Coincidentally, it takes seven words (or better) for the algorithm to recognise engagement with the video. So if you want to help the content provider's numbers, it'll take a tiny bit of effort.
