You Can’t Heal Trauma with Positivity !

1️⃣ Understanding Trauma:
Trauma is like a poison that doesn’t just fade away with time or positive actions. Just as adding sugar to a glass of water with poison won’t make it safe, no amount of good habits can remove unresolved trauma. Healing requires going to the root of the pain and addressing it, not just covering it up with positive routines.

2️⃣ The Illusion of “Positive Distraction”:
Too often, we think that “building good” can erase “the bad.” But it’s like trying to fix a broken leg by bench pressing – no amount of strength elsewhere will heal the core injury. Similarly, trauma remains until we address it directly, with honesty and the right tools.

3️⃣ Facing Pain with Courage:
Healing requires courage. Brushing teeth or fixing hair can’t mend a broken leg, and mental pain is no different. It’s tempting to avoid what hurts, but true strength lies in confronting what’s difficult and allowing ourselves to process it fully.

4️⃣ The Path to Genuine Growth:
Growth is a process that asks us to go beyond surface-level fixes and embrace vulnerability. Facing trauma is tough, but it’s the only path to genuine, lasting change and mental resilience.

“Time doesn't heal anything, it just teaches us how to live with pain.”

True. Same with time. It does not remove the piss. I guess time is like adding more water into glass which gradually reduces the concentration of the piss making it weaker...but the piss still there.

This is so true of grief. I lost my son 7 years ago in a tragic accident. The pain is still there but they're frequency is less is the only difference.

Finding a way to make peace with it is the really hard part. No matter how well things are going or how many distractions I have, the past bubbles up into everything and it effects my life.

So true. This is why all the mental health clinics have lifetime members.

Damn. I’ve been trying to explain what I feel post my break up. But this is exactly it. Not in the mood to just “hit the gym” for the sake of getting over someone. It has to be processed, and laid to rest.

This is 100% true, but it is important to know that building something good, can often help one to remove the bad, don’t restrict yourself from building something good just because you need to remove something bad

Thank god someone finally said it. No matter how much you try to fix trauma without adressing the issue will never fix it period. This is first medical professional say the truth about trauma. The other guy who laughed about this is clearly in denial about trauma and wholeheartedly believes this person who spoke the truth is wrong. Trauma can truly be healed if it is addressed and worked on and not deflected.

Oh my...this is just so true... I've wasted years putting sugar on shit...and it's been a complete waste of time. The body keeps score and holds it all.

If you are afraid you sinned too much, do good deeds and as much as possible. Nothing better than doing something good for someone. The wisdom behind it is incredible. But for most things yes you can't do the opposite and expect the bad to disappear.

Hahahaha, that's the perfect way to explain that there is no amount of good that will even negate something bad. ❤

I have faith in my ability to evolve beyond old patterns and become more resilient with every healing choice. This journey is a sacred act of self-respect, and each decision to heal is a loving investment in my future self. Healing gives me the strength to rise, and in rising, I deepen my healing. Overcoming challenges to my health is not just a solution—it’s an act of self-care. Every mindful, healthy action heals something within me. Healing is not merely recovery—it is transformation from the inside out. Small acts of healing can ripple into profound, lasting change.
