The one additional variable that you’ll want to control sometimes is plant vigour. This can vary from seed to seed, even if you bought quality seed from a reputable supplier or saved it yourself. To make sure we have a collection of high quality plants to transplant into a bed, we’ll start extra seeds to begin with and only pot up and transplant the best of the bunch. In the case of this cauliflower example here, I started by planting twenty ¾ inch soil blocks with one seed each, then potted up the best 16 plants to 2 inch soil blocks, and finally transplanted just the best 8 cauliflower plants into this garden bed. We can’t end up with the best if we don’t start with the best. After that, as long as we control the 5 core variables, we’ll be in great shape.

The richness of those leaves ,I'd blanch. Garlicnd olive oil.
I'm sure you eat the leaves as well on most plants .

For a hybrid or inbred variety, yes to a fairly large extent, but you don't generally get the same results with landrace varieties or more variable open-pollinated varieties.

I don't like clockwork, I have a HUGE farm and quite honestly I do it two every week for six weeks that way not all will be ready once I get the first two the next week I'll have another two , especially veggies, if not and I get all 20 within a week it's ALOT of unnecessary canning and planning.. I enjoy every Saturday going out and getting about the same each week

Are the leaves edible? It seems like such a waste lol. Like so many leaves for one cauliflower.

Is there a video about how you built your cover rolls for the cabbage and cauliflower?
I would like to learn how to build a cover row like yours in this video as a person new to gardening.

I've made cauliflower leaves similar to sauerkraut, just a low simmer with a little water, if I recall correctly

Can you eat the leaves of the cauliflower? Like either collard greens or spinach?
