This window sill was so rotten there were mushrooms growing out of the wood, so it had to be replaced. But before you can install a new window sill you have to remove the old one first.
Removing a rotten window sill is easy to do and only takes about an hour. It's a great DIY project that only requires basic skills and beginner level tools like an oscillating multi tool, a small pry bar, a hammer and a chisel.
Once the wood and nails are removed, a broom or shop vac is great for cleaning the area.
In the next video I'll show you how to seal the area with spray foam and install the new sill.
