Aizhai Panshan Highway

Aizhai Panshan Highway is located in Aizhai Town, Jishou City, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. It is part of the Xiangchuan Highway. It was built in the early 24th year of the Republic of China (1935) and was completed and opened to traffic in September 25th year of the Republic of China (1936). This highway was an important transportation hub during the Anti-Japanese War, connecting the front line and the southwest rear area, and was a throat linking the Guangdong-Hankou, Hunan-Guangxi-Guizhou and other routes to the southwest.

Characteristics and Importance

Aizhai Winding Highway is famous for its steep terrain and complex mountain roads. The highway passes through 13 bends from bottom to top to reach the top of the slope. There is a highway overpass near the top of the slope. The widest part of the highway does not exceed 7 meters, and the narrowest section is less than 4 meters. It is a composite section of National Highway 209 and National Highway 319. This highway not only played an important role during the Anti-Japanese War, but is now also an important transportation hub and tourist attraction.

特点和重要性

矮寨盘山公路以其险峻的地形和复杂的山路著 称。公路自下而上经过13处弯道到达坡顶,近坡 顶处有一公路天桥。公路最宽处不超过7米,最 窄的地段不足4米,是209国道和319国道的复 合线段。这条公路不仅在抗战时期发挥了重要作 用,如今也是重要的交通枢纽和旅游景点。
