In Hinduism, Krishna is a central figure and is revered as a god. He is often depicted as having blue skin and playing a flute. One of the most distinguishing features of Krishna is his beard.
Beards have been associated with wisdom and spiritual guidance throughout history. In many cultures, they are seen as a sign of virility and manliness. In Hinduism, the beard is also seen as a sign of renunciation.
So, did Krishna have a beard?
There is no clear answer, as there is no mention of Krishna’s beard in the Hindu scriptures. However, many scholars believe that he did have a beard, as it was a common practice for holy men at the time.
As far as the trimurti is concerned, Brahma is almost always depicted as an aged man with white flowing hair and white flowing beard from all 4 heads . Perhaps the white flowing beard depicts his vedic wisdom , as in the proverbial 'wise old man' ?
The Parthasarathy Temple is a 6th-century Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu in Chennai, India. Located in the neighbourhood of Thiruvallikeni, the temple is glorified in the Naalayira Divya Prabandham, the early medieval Tamil literature canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th to 9th centuries CE and is classified as among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu.[2] The name 'Parthasarathy' means the 'charioteer of Arjuna', referring to Krishna's role as a charioteer to Arjuna in the epic Mahabharata.
Perumal acted as the driver for Parthan/ Arjunan, coz of which he is named as Parthasarathy. That's the reason that he has a mustache. Triplicane is close to Marina Beach, so it can be combined in your tour itinerary easily.
Shiva on the other hand is mostly depicted as having jatas on head, coiled hair like rishis but no facial hair. However some depictions also shown him sporting pointed mustaches and beard.
Vishnu is perhaps the only god in trimurti without any facial hair at all ! He's shown reclining with a youthful appearance on sheshanag . And so're all his avatars (except Parshuram) shown with a youthful , no-beard appearance. Although sporting long beautiful hair.So much so that one of the names of hair is "Keshava" (kesh : hair)
