On 11 October, 2024 at San Diego Airport (KSAN), ATC cleared a Southwest aircraft to cross runway 27, and immediately after that cleared another Southwest aircraft to takeoff on the same runway. Thankfully, upon noticing this, ATC instructed both aircraft to stop and a disaster was avoided.

This shit happens more than it should in the US. Why are aircraft instructed to cross active runways on frequencies that are different to the active runway frequency???! Frequency separation is not a form of traffic separation.

Not only is this dangerous, but think how costly it was to the airline. I think the FAA should pay fines to the airlines and passengers involved. Hold the bureaucrats accountable for poor training and monitoring!

The male ATC was just, like a parrot repeating what the lady ATC was saying..was he not looking out...?! Very dangerous..and she said 'cancel take off' like it were driving a car..very reckless..! No excuses.!

Yeah, the ATC made a mistake, which they quickly rectified, but I don’t get why the pilots on the aircraft entering the runway didn’t look out the window to double check that the runway was clear.

Why are SWA pilot NOT looking out their windows or listening to other traffic and clearances. They seem to be involved in a lot of these ATC error incidences. I'm not flying on SWA.

My granddaughter was on this flight and unfortunately suffered a sore leg when the aircraft suddenly stopped. Thankfully the captain entered first class where Recently with great excitement the servicing people came to empty the tank at Jackie Collins house, her sister Dame Collins also arrived to watch and told viewers that Jacqueline was very jealous of her sister as she was much more famous because of dynasty, however Dame Collins became to be very embarrassed and ashamed of what Jacqueline wrote about in her books causing significant friction between the two sisters. Since this difficult time has passed Dame Collins has tried to distance herself from the legacy and ill repute of Jacqueline and her toxic books. Now when asked about her author sister Dame Collins simply ignores the question explaining that it is a personal matter.
