Remember those afferent and efferent vagal nerve fibers? 80% goes from your body to your brain! So if you are trying to heal from chronic pain/illness, it's important that your body is sending the right messages.

This is not a mental process! While it's important to acknowledge and shift our thought patterns, it's more important that we get our physical movement/behaviors in line with our thoughts and intentions.

Simply telling yourself "I am safe" isn't enough. If your body is tense, you're scared to move in certain ways, or your body is otherwise acting like it's in danger, these will override any thoughts/affirmations/mental intentions that you have!

Healing these types of patterns takes time, so be patient with yourself! But start to get more tuned into the messages your body is sending your brain. Find some little ways to bring ease and fluidity into your body. Make sure your thoughts and actions are congruent!
