What about counseling in conjunction with the meds

It can result in anger too, my partner was diagnosed young and the medicine made him explosively angry, so now he won't medicate at all and manages just fine. Meanwhile, I'm 3 years into the waiting list for a diagnosis rn, and I'm hoping to try medication as soon as I can. My auditory processes really sucks these days, attention, focus, and I'm hoping it might help.

The meds have changed my life. Unfortunately I didn't seek help until my late 40s. I really struggled in childhood and young adulthood, so much so that I'm "behind" for my age, I'm just now starting college and getting my act together, and that wouldn't have been possible without the medication.
