Interesting car. They sold a lot in Malaysia.
And not to mention every other cars in Malaysia now is a Chinese EV or PHEV.
The 8 years warranty for the battery and electric motor must be one of the reasons it sold a lot.
And seeing that they're willing to give that long of a warranty, sure did lower some worriness from potential buyers.

I love the idea of having a more normal car in your collection for a few months. I actually like the BYD and it has a very calming noise when it's driving.

Toyota has just bought the patent for the hybrid system from BYD so it’s not a bad start, actually I have a friend with a hybrid suv from that brand, as has a very good hybrid system that hasn’t charged fuel in 3 months

I’ll be real, the design looks really nice, inside and out. BYD have been around for ages and have went from making knockoff unreliable copycat cars to more advanced electric cars.
Is this as exciting as the other sports cars? No.
Is this more likely to catch fire due to thermal runaway of li-ion batteries? Yes.
But honestly, i dont think its a necessarily bad car to be honest. Its a decent daily that sits four people, is cheaper to run and does the job. And its quite comfy as well.

Had a BYD in the garage for tyres not long ago. On the lift, key on top of tool box, car switched off. About to take wheels off an all of a sudden the front wheels started spinning at 53mph (indicated on dash). The car literally turned itself on and did 53mph, on its own. Either that or a Chinese hacker.

Honestly if anything he should have went for the lucid line if he wanted an EV, the grand touring is 819 HP a range of 512 and a 0-60 of 3 seconds. It’s a far more impressive car and they look much nicer.
