to be completely fair, as a cellist who switched to viola for fun, its not easy adjusting to the smaller space between strings, so i think dom did great

Tbh it seems slightly easier to switch from violin to cello. Different techniques ofc but as a cellist myself I think it’s easier to apply more pressure and stretch your fingers a little than having to adjust your fingers to the small instrument and literally twisting your arm. Also violins strings are much closer to one another

Cello is easier to adjust to because it's larger so switching to a smaller instrument requires you to learn the skill of making your finger spacing/embouchure smaller

Omg I got yelled at for playing my cello like that (and I played cello as my only instrument lol). Her bow is exactly how you play violin but the opposite of what you want from cello and it immediately brought me back to recording myself to see if my bow is straight lol

Dom struggled a bit to play in tune and Emma had a strange bow hold which compromised on the tone, but both were amazing. They are true musicians, being able to adapt like that to instruments they have never played before.
