Fun fact: ITA Airways' livery is inspired by national teams of every sports, because they all feature the iconic metallic-blue (Azzurro), because Italians are mad crazy about sports.

I flew ITA airways from Nice to Rome and I got a good deal on business class. The business class lounge was so mediocre and the food served in the airline was so dry and bad (imagine dry pasta!). They blocked out the middle seat, so it wasnt business class. Luckily i had a good deal on the flight price. Otherwise I would not have bothered :). I think KLM is better than ITA

Hmm well ITA Airways is the state airline and basically a replacement for bankrupt Alitalia. I was an agent for AZ back in the early to mid 2000's it wasn't great then. It was mostly known for the low cost fares to Săo Paulo, Buenos Aires and Addis Ababa with stopover options in Rome.
The new ITA colour is the Italian sporting colours (Azuré) same as the rugby team.
ITA Airways is really what was swept out of the ashes. Which route was that review?

The worst flying experience I ever had was Alitalia. This was 15 years ago and in the middle of a strike, but a company's true character is revealed in a crisis. thousands of customers, us included, waited in line for help as they were stranded in Marco Polo International Airport while only a couple of hapless staff were left to deal with the chaos. Hotels were of course all booked up and no one had confidence they could leave the airport and have a solution to their problems resolved, so everyone just kept waiting. Never flew them or the vestiges of the company again afterwards.

It is not the fear that the pilots are actually trained to fly a plane, or the fear that they actually service their planes, or the fear that the are not skimping on fuel, or the fear they will go bankrupt during a flight.
