Hey Ben, for us it makes sense to have both; we have power walls but they can only be charged up with solar unless there’s a storm event which then and only then will our batteries charge up from the grid. In Canada here we have loads of snow on the solar panels so, at times, we are not producing any electricity. What would be amazing is having a car that allows us to PowerShare with the house, letting us “charge” the car/truck from the grid and then, use the kw to power the house in case of an emergency. Bypassing the grid charging restrictions on the batteries with the PowerShare car is a really smart option for us. The cybertruck is great but hopefully the refresh Y will have PowerShare available.. fingers crossed.

Am buying the starter ecoflow Delta Ultra and thinking how perfect a cybertruck would be for after something like a hurricane. The ecoflow makes the connection to your home simple, instantly turns off after an outage, the Cybertruck lets you run everything needed for days, not just hours. The biggest benefit is all that storage is completely mobile, you can “drive” it to your other house, friends house, someone in need…, and plug them in too.

Yep, I think Telsa should only allow their Vehicles on V2H with a powerwall. The powerwall is the first line of defense. At the same time. I plan on having two EVs so if there are no EVs at the house, there won't be a lot of load in the house so the battery could be a lot smaller.
I think V2H/G will be critical for the grid more than a house. Being able to use them to bother draw power and supply power on the need of the grid in normal daily use will be great for the overall grid, and might make charging EVs free for most days.

Ha! I wasn’t expecting video answer and thanks for this, but my question was mostly about cost comparison, not that someone is actually going to configure 90kWh setup for home :) Profit margins of home battery storage manufacturers kind of looks silly when you compare it to actual truck with higher battery capacity.
