Hey bro, EMG data rlly does not always correlate to better gains. Often times there will be higher readings within a muscle merely from increasing the instability of a movement and isn’t bc more force is being exerted by the muscle. This does not yield more gains and can even lead to worse gains if u have to use significantly reduced loads bc of the instability

Dude just changed my life. I've been lifting for years and use to be a shot putter. I've been doing shoulders wrong the whole time. I've just been pushing through trap pain and knots in my shoulders blades for years. And all I needed was a proper coach with wisdom.

Wide grip also puts the load on your elbow tendons when you bring the bar down and your elbows flair out to 90 degrees. Shorter grip may not engage as much muscle but it saves your elbows.

Just do what feels good. Don’t get wrapped up in this whole “this excercise has the most front delt activation” just do what feels good. Do it consistently and you will grow.
