Something that enlightened me years ago was hearing some Smashing Pumpkins practice tracks(if that’s what they’re called) and thought wow this is pretty rough.

I dig all three but I take the most from Finneas. The magical candy in pop music, that angelic fairy dust sprinkled on the track, it’s not just the right take or the cool reverb… it’s comes from all the right elements playing together. What sounds like a single vocalist might come from 10 tracks, some of which aren’t even vocals.
