I could be convinced that a high power inline 6 belongs in a muscle / pony car assuming its the low power engine option. Its different enough from the v8 that its not like the v6 where its clearly just a v8 minus 2 cylinders. Plus thats what they did in the 50-70s.

Heck yes it counts. I remember getting 3 demerits for looking at a “HOT ROD” magazine in Biology class. The article was about the hot rodding of the inline sixes of Ford, Chevy, and MOPAR. They hot rodded the 170 c.i. Ford, the 252 c.i. Chevy, and the 225 c.i. MOPAR. I may still have that issue, but, it’s in storage, I think. But, it was, and still is hot rodding no matter the engine. The Ford Escort is still a hot rodded for rally racing and a strong contender!

Of course that's a muscle car! Adding twin turbos to them makes them extra powerful and sound great. Twin turbos turn them into proper muscle cars. You are right.
