They should have had The Institute create holiday themed synths that went rogue, the lore being that it was an old attempt by The Institute to improve their public image and that it went very wrong when the synths' programming encountered an irreconcilable paradox.

I was also quite surprised too see nothing done for Both St. Patrick's Day and The 4th of July, with it being set in Boston, these 2 specific holidays should have gotten something of a mention at least.

I played starting on Halloween this year and there is more jackolanterns spawned through out the map and I saw Halloween decorations in sanctuary before the bombs fell.

People love to give Fallout 4 shit but it's worth pointing out that it's the only Fallout game to actually acknowledge that the world did in fact end very close to Halloween, so there's ruined Halloween decorations around on some of the houses, and plenty of trick or treating buckets.
