I think ground branch does the best job at the actually NV look. The noise on the intensifiers and how they handle light is the most realistic representation to real world. This one you showcased isnāt bad, but thereās an aspect to it that games can really get right. When your looking through the tubes you tunnel vision and donāt recognize any light around the tubes unless itās a significant amount but since your eyes are still focused down the tubes itās almost blurry similar to looking in a scope. It would also be pretty neat to have games implement your eyes adjusting from the bright nods to ambient light when you flip up your nods.

Close but there is a way they could make it even better. Most nods have brightness adjustments. Brighter the image, the clearer it is to make out distant objectsā¦ but with two trade offs. First the light reveled around your eyes will be slightly more visible to others with nods from a side profile unless you have eye cups that block your peripheral view. But even without eyecups, the brighter screen causes you pupils to shrink, making your peripheral view even darker, and taking longer to adjust back. This actually is one of the reasons I usually only have one tube down on my PVS 31s at work, to maintain my other eyes natural night vision for other tasked such as taking notes or working on equipment

Still missing the fact that looking at bright light with nvgs essentially burn the lens and cause temporary and potentially permanent dark lines/spots on your lens. Furthermore the fact that nvgs require some sort of external light to work due to it being a light amplifier. If you went into a pitch dark room with no windows the nvgs would not work as there would be no light to amplify, in these cases most nvgs have an option to turn on infrared lights to provide light for the nvgs. The focusing is also not right as the nvgs function like binoculars, meaning you need to adjust the focus as you go to be able to go from seeing things at different distances. Any setting would leave some distance blurry.

Glad to see game devs actually taking the time to show their players how real world equipment works and not just a filter over the players screen. Love the content Riloe š
