Alright here Ian clearing somethingâs up St. Peter may he be in heaven and in peace when people approached Jesus in malicious ways he was known to draw his sword to defend this does mean he hates them it means heâs defending them I donât hate nazis even though they did bad things I can forgive them if people come to commit war crimes and all that I might punish or kill them but I do not hate them for thatâs what Jesus taught. If you would like to educate me do it in comments đ I love my Jewish and Muslim brothers and may Jesus the savior and god almighty grant us all heaven.

The guy on the left was totally unprepared for this, he clearly doesnât know the context of these quotes. âLove thy enemyâ doesnât mean that you can never defend yourself in any circumstance, you just have to remember your enemyâs humanity and not be blinded by hatred. Jesus was telling his followers that they shouldnât blindly hate every Roman citizen just because the Roman Empire had occupied Jerusalem, he was saying to still look at them as individual humans who have the capacity for good. This was in response to a lot of his followers getting upset that he was helping Romans as well, and not exclusively Jews. âHe who lives by the sword will die by the swordâ was said in the context of Jesusâs disciple cutting off a Roman soldierâs ear when the Roman soldier hadnât done anything to him, it basically means that if youâre always escalating to violence some day youâre going to meet your match. It was basically the ancient version of âdonât start none wonât be noneâ
