you also could just try to keep the hole saw straight on and not wallow around on it. when you start tiling the drill it flex's the pilot bit and allows the drum of the saw to walk as it distorts. this is why the thick wall hole saws for heavy metal use don't get stuck, the wall thickness is high enough to resist warping/flexing during the cut so the slug ends up actually being round and not oblong.

Back in the olden days of the 80s they used to just have a small little pin hole on both sides to try to knock that thing out with a nail punch which didn't really always work all that often. Many times I would have to drill out the wood from inside the on a one and a half inch hole saw I would probably use a 3/8 drill bit about 20 times in order to loosen it up and have enough flex so I can break it and pull her out

Just spray siliconspray in the hole saw on a regular baises. Of course not dripping wet. 😉IMO in most cases the reason the wood doesn't slip out eaisly is because like in this video the hole saw has been used so much already that it is dull and sawing the hole too small to begin with. Just my opinion

Good spring idea .You can also Try screwing a long wood screw into the wood and it comes straight out once it hits the back of the hole saw .
