Looks like a Jeep Renegade and a Ford Bronco sport. To be honest when I pick up something new it would be a 5th gen 4runner or different brand. Hate that everyone is try to slap a turbo so many model. They are nice and funny when they run well. Everyone who knows a thing or two knows that turbo vehicles have more issues, don't last as long and cost a whole lot more to fix. But i do like your 5th gen.

I love it. I have a 98 Chevy Tracker (Suzuki Vitara for the rest of the world), I love small body SUVs. Best use of space, can fit on side by side/ATV trails and cheaper. I wish we got this and the Hilux Champ...here's to hoping they bring over a smaller truck/SUV

I think the idea of a smaller vehicle with true LC capabilities is VERY appealing. Ive always wanted a Jimny, but never bought one because i think it might get too small too quickly for true overlanding. Alone it might be fine, but with a passenger and everything that comes along with her it might be too small. But this new FJ is the perfect size for europe, without being as big as a 250 nor as tiny as a Jimny. Love it. Would buy one in a heart beat

In Asia the Land Rover Defender is popular with campers as the rear swings out and a tent attaches to the rear opening. With the swing out rear door, the new fj may do the same thing.

Maybe they would to compete with Jeep renegade or Bronco sport? But I’m not sure it makes sense or what price point they bring it at. Unlikely it would be that much cheaper than a 4Runner.

It would be cool in the US at the right price...if the Trailhunter trim ends up being $49K then they may not sell well...but if we could get into a capable, smaller offroader for sub-$40Ks with decent aftermarket support then they might have a winner...definitely easier to park at the mall and could offer some decent offroad chops.
