Bacon, eggs and hashbrowns would be a once in awhile or maybe once a weekend breakfast. Most don't do a full sit down breakfast. Kind of like you wouldn't eat a full English breakfast daily. Most have a bowl of cereal, toast or a pastry. You also wouldn't go out to eat all 3 meals. That would be so expensive and unpracticale unless your on vacation.

It’s so easy to go over your recommended calorie and fat intake only eating out. In my family, we have always only allowed take away meals or eating out to once a month. I do most of the cooking in our home. I’ve worked in restaurants and I’ve seen all the unhealthy oils food is prepared with. You gain so much weight eating this way, even if you work out. I try to do farm to table meals at home. It tastes so much better and there aren’t the large amounts of sodium, saturated fats, cholesterol, and sugar. I understand that not everyone can eat this way, but I’m so grateful to be able to grow our own food and give my family a much healthier lifestyle. Also, you forgot the ungodly amount of super sized soft drinks most Americans have several times a day.

i looked up the usda data the site that google was quoting used, and the usda report uses a method called "per capital calorie availability" which is the total calorie supply of all the food available (think on supermarket shelves, in storage silos, in restaurant supply chains ect) and divides it by the number of people in america
this stat means only that if all the food was split evenly to everyone, it would amount to 3600 calories per day, it gets misreported to mean the average American eats 3600 calories per day.
the average american also cannot afford a 12 dollar ihop, 10 dollar maccas, and 20 dollar olive garden meal plan per day

For context, It's estimated that the average man should be eating 2,500kcals a day, or 2,000kcals for a woman. It’s crazy how easy it is to hit 3600 with the food available in the US!
Also, the average American does not eat out at restaurants for 3 meals a day, obviously. That’s not the point of the video. The point of the video was simply to eat 3,600 calories in one day. We decided to do this by eating at the most popular restaurant locations because:
1. To show how easy is to reach this calorie amount when you eat at these extremely popular/unhealthy restaurants
2. Eating home cooked meals for a day would be extremely boring to watch and to record
3. We had never eaten at some of these places before as we don’t have them Ireland, so we wanted to try them out!✌️
Also also, when we said 490 calories was a lot for the breakfast, we meant 490 calories was a lot for a meal that was not filling in the slightest, we were still extremely hungry.
