God, I really wish the "shout choruses" would come back into the mainstream music.

I'm so glad there's a name for this. It reminds me of my favorite moment in the last episode of Ed, Edd & Eddy, a show which already has one of the best jazz scores ever, there's this moment where you hear the whole brass section playing this badass melody together and it is the FATTEST sound ever!

Nowadays Stevie is referred as R&B and soul musician, but in early years he really mixed genres and even created several subgenres. Young Stevie was a force of nature, who’s tool was music to express his unique energy

I love Sir Duke!
In fact I rarely hear pure Jazz but a lot of songs and Genres with Jazz influence.

There was a program on the USA network back in the early 80's called Night Flight. It was a mish mash of programs one of which was videos from the Apollo Theater. That's where I heard and saw Sir Duke Ellington play Caravan with some well respected Jazz musicians of his day including the trumpet player who wrote the tune. I got kinda hooked on Jazz right there. I've heard it done by a few other artists but that live rendition is still my favorite Jazz tune.

Bringing insights of the songwriting of soul and big band jazz, different genres and all that makes your channel inspiring and extremely insightful. Hope you continue bringing new concepts that are common features in genres that, by their turn, may not be common listens for lots of us (although Stevie Wonder is for me).

Something I've noticed about this song that I've never heard anyone ever mention is that the verse melody is the same as in Sam Cooke's (What a) Wonderful World.
