I had a flight on Philippine Airlines last year.
I noticed that nobody were seated on the entire row in front of me. Doors were now shut, so I assumed all passengers were accounted for and those seats were free.
I asked the flight attendant if I could switch seats in the front, they said they will check back on me after we have taken off.
Once we were in the air and the seatbelt lights were off, they announced changing seats is not allowed so don't ask them.
A couple of hours in the flight, the person next to me went off to the toilet, came back and took those free seats like nothing. She sat there for the rest of our 8hr flight.
I am very civilized man, but things like these make me think I should just do whatever the hell I want.

I asked once on a flight from Dubai to London, they said there was nothing going - then she came and got me, wasn’t business class, but there was a whole middle row of seats in economy unused, they had seen I was only asking because I was dog tired and wanted to lie down, so they made me a bed and gave me an amenity kit and pyjamas 🥹 the seat might not have been first class but the service absolutely was ❤ (was an emirates flight

Bro, some people are inconsiderate. My father once had severe back pain and when he requested for an upgrade in Emirates they rejected us, many business class seats were empty anyway
