I think dad was born and raised in different times where making jokes like this were used to break the ice so to speak.
Definitely shouldn’t have said it, but I think everyone understands what it feels like to have words come out the wrong way or have your words just sound not right when they come out.
However, I do think dad should apologise to both and explain himself.
