This explains why Ra's is using Talia's personal gaurds as his main soldiers in Arkham City. He was slowly coming to terms that Bruce won't join them and that perhaps he doesn't need a male heir and that Talia will be his true successor.
He know puts his complete trust in her and her forces heck he would have probably let her put him down without a fight.
I also think the only reason he threaten to kill her in front of Bruce was to finally show her that Bruce will never join or do whatever is needed to worthy plus it would also show her why Ra's needs to die as he admits that he's going mad and becoming less of a man and more of a demon(plus he also starts quoting demon lines like saying "we are legion")heck his body was reflecting that in Arkham City as when you zoom into his face he's rotting while he still lives and looks like a zombie
