Just run an inline UV-C light on the output of a canister filter. It'll never cloud up ever again.

I’ll be waiting for the video detailing how you re-engineer your house to support the big tank!

UV light tube. Phosphate management. Smaller less frequent water changes. When conducting a monthly deep cleaning, settle waste water, clean and polish filter it back into system. Rubbermaid janitorial grade basin on wheels with a canister filter. Keep it as closed of a system as possible. Only dump sludge.

i remember we had a big tank with coy in it, tried to make an automatic filtering/cleaning system, my only advice is make sure the energy of the pump doesnt heat the water up enough to cook the fish. other than that its an option for ya

Once you get up to ocean size they maintain themselves. 250 gallons is a step on the way to freedom from all maintenance-- just make sure the "kids" don't start throwing plastic bags or straws into it and you're golden.

If it's a freshwater tank I would recommend reading the book Ecology of the Planted Aquarium by Diana Walstad, and then redoing the whole tank according to that recipe. You'll never need to clean the tank again, just add water and prune back the plants once in a while when they get too thick.

You should make a video about a DIY filtering system for the 250 gallon tank!

I used to have a 100gallon and we would set up a hose to siphon off the water into the yard every year. Bucket the fish in their old water then add that to a 90gal to bring it back to level. We also had a planktonomous fish so that helped immensely with glass appearance.

Next up: "Hi. In today's video, we're going to be cleaning a 250 gallon tank." followed by laudable teachings

Cleaning aquariums really isnt that much work, don't know why people are always complaining - my best guess is because they think it is effert free. Just suction the pebbles every 2 weeks with one of those gravity suction devices. Then fill replace the lost water - in a tank this size, it'll take 10-20mins. Get a pleco to keep the glass and ornaments clean.
