This is some serious, badass shark fishing near Savannah, Georgia. Gabe Mayhew, Bob Rystrum and Arthur Smith of the Savannah Shark Hunters taught me thatlLots of saltwater game fish can put up one heck of a fight. but no fish is more dangerous than a shark. They aren't a Megalodon, but they are BAD. We went 14 miles into the Atlantic, scattered dead fish “chum” to attract sharks and waited. Suddenly it happened. This was our own version of Jaws. Shark fishing is a mixture of patience, skill, courage and raw physical endurance. You are catching fish that weigh hundreds of pounds and get really, really angry when you hook them. It was an amazing day for some serious badass shark fishing. This story aired on WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News in 1976.
