This "challenge" actually predates Tiktok. Back in the 2010's, there was an activist trying to spread awareness of motorcycle users using the sidewalk to avoid traffic by lying down to block them
This was a bit more positive as it kinda worked at reducing the number of those law breakers and made the government fix a lot more sidewalks
But as you can tell, as the emergence of social media started, people somehow evolved this into... Whatever this is.
As you might know, Indonesia is one of the contributors in the highest number of traffic jams in the world and they thought it would be a great idea to start this nonsense

I watched idiot friends do this at a busy intersection by the shopping mall 1998. No one got hurt luckily, but the truck driver was pissed off and got out of the truck on a green light and then a car behind him honked their horns at the truck driver. We ran as fast as we could away from him. I regretted that, it wasn’t funny to me but the other kids thought it was hilarious.

This is very similar to a game kids would play called Crossey. The kids goal was to dash across the road narowwingly missing being hit by passing cars.

I feel like this is worse than what I'd do when I was 12. I used to cross the highway to get to a music store that was close by, but too far to get to on foot if traveled to properly. I actively avoided the cars but it was still insanely dangerous and I'm so lucky no one ever got hurt.
