The Engineer from Team Fortress 2 fits like a glove in the sun-scorched Mojave Desert of Fallout: New Vegas*. A true blend of southern charm, technical ingenuity, and a can-do attitude, he’d feel right at home amidst the ruins of Old World tech and the frontier vibes of the wasteland. With his knack for building and maintaining gadgets, he’d quickly be scavenging scrap electronics and sensor modules from places like Repconn HQ or Vault 22, crafting makeshift turrets akin to his trusty Sentry Gun to fend off Deathclaws in Quarry Junction or Cazadores near Jacobstown. His soft-spoken demeanor and Texan roots would make him a fan favorite at towns like Goodsprings and Primm, where his revolver and trusty Pip-Boy would make him the perfect mix of gunslinger and gearhead. Picture the Engineer humming *"Big Iron" as he tinkers with a Robo-Scorpion’s remains or tunes up ED-E at the Mojave Express.

The Engineer’s love of tech would draw him naturally to Mr. House, the enigmatic ruler of the Strip, whose vision for a restored New Vegas aligns with the Engineer’s ideals. Mr. House’s focus on technological revival—think Securitron armies, Old World robotics, and Project Platinum Chip—would deeply resonate with a man whose life’s work is machines. The Engineer would lend his expertise to upgrading Securitrons at the Lucky 38, all while using perks like Jury Rigging and Robotics Expert to keep his creations humming. Though the NCR’s militaristic bureaucracy and Caesar’s anti-tech Legion would seem incompatible with his values, he’d understand the importance of ensuring the Mojave doesn’t devolve into chaos, making him a key player in securing House’s vision for a prosperous New Vegas.

But the Engineer isn’t one to put all his eggs in one basket, especially not when it’s run by a man locked in a life-support pod. With his unparalleled technical skills and knowledge of robotics, the Engineer would understand that Mr. House, while a genius, could be a threat if left unchecked. Armed with the Pulse Gun from Vault 34 or a trusty Tesla Cannon crafted from scavenged parts, the Engineer would be ready to storm the Lucky 38 and pull the plug on House if necessary. His pragmatic approach ensures he’d be ready to pivot alliances if the time came, all while remaining a bastion of hope in a wasteland where it’s every vault dweller, courier, and engineer for themselves. Who else but the Engineer could build a better New Vegas—one sprocket at a time?

i feel like engi would find yes man, realize he can scrap him, and slowly start taking him apart while yes man politely tries to stop him

He would also be a massive help with his dispenser and teleportation tech. No need for doctors or caravans, and with easy to build turrets raiders will either die out or be a glorified gange

If his wrench can upgrade a securitron the mojave is done for.

It would be cool if, with this version of the character, Engineer's ancestor built House's life support machine. Kind of a mirror of TF2 lore.

Engie is oddly civil.
Just...just keep him away from the brotherhood.

House sends Engi to eliminate the Brotherhood of Steel. Engi agrees on the stipulation that he's able to at least TRY and negotiate first.

Three days later Engi rolls back into the 38, carrying a sack of comical size, saying that the Brotherhood is gone. Conversations reveal that the Brotherhood tried to take his turrets and Dispenser (convincing ol' Dell that peaceful negotiations are off the table and it was time for a more practical solution - guns and bigger guns) and that, before the bunker went up in smoke, he took every bit of technology he could - power armor (including the training manual), laser guns, computers, sentry bot pieces, everything that wasn't nailed down basically.

Stats are definitely in his intelligence and guns along with science plus he would be a house ending or a wild card ending cause of the robot army

Well I believe that damn near all the mercenaries from Team Fortress 2 would side with Mr. House given the fact that they’re all Mercenaries. But it is fun to have diverse options for everyone.

I feel that Engineer IS the BOS. Sure he will side with House but after blowing up the bunker. He’d grab as much tech he can before doing so. People missing their entire Power Armor, computers, the fucking controls to the ventilation. You name it

Imagine Engie ending up in the Think Tank
I doubt he would have trouble convincing his brain to come back

I feel like if the Brotherhood learned of Engie's tech, they would try to confiscate it

He'd be into modding his weapons at the very least. If he were in Fallout 4 however, I'd imagine him building settlements with a lot of defensive turrets.
