My 1984 NIV reference Bible is my favorite. Perfect size. It is completely falling apart, binding coming undone, cover destroyed. May rebind it… still haven’t found a Bible I love as much.

Great get, Tim! I bought one (Zondervan) in 1991 and used it every day for several months. It didn’t take long for it to begin disintegrating. Yes, bonded leather. It has had electricians and duck tape on it for 30 years. I finally sent it off to Red Letter Rebinds to get it in real leather. Can't wait to get it back. It's one of my favorite bibles!

I absolutely loved those style of ‘84 NIVs that were produced by Cornerstone and World publishers.

84 is the best NIV, I have my 84 NIV study bible, it went downhill from there.

I happened to find a brand new NIV 84 Bonded Leather TCR earlier this year.
Saving it, as I still use my copy from the 1990’s, though in the process of re-binding it… when I finally complete the task. (perfectionist)

I have a 1984 like new (practically mint condition) Zondervan Personal Size Large Print center column reference that I asked my grandparents to buy me to replace my copy that they got me a decade earlier, but I have barely ever even opened it to read it, since I got an NKJV from my mom shortly thereafter. Didn't realize these were collectors items now

Awesome! Thats a great find, especially if affordable. I have seen quite a few brand new copies on eBay for hundreds of dollars, so i had to skip out lol. Thankfully I found one in almost brand new condition for about $50 🙌

I picked up a leather Thompson chain reference Bible new in the box for $5 at a thrift store. I took it to have my name put on it. That cost more than the Bible.😊

I have this identical text block and it's well worn. It was published by Holman Publishing in '91. Probably the thinnest paper I've ever seen!

ones have the vinyl liner.
