What you see in this video is the beginning of our work at a new house. In concrete foundation, we start by forming what we call the "footing" or the base of our concrete foundation. Depending on the building plan, you will use various widths of boards to create forms but here we used 2×6 forms and this is the typical size. This footing is 15 inches wide per the building plan. The stem wall we are going to build on top of this will will be 6 inches wide and between 1.5 and 2 feet tall. The next video I will post will show the stem wall formed after we have poured these footings.
