Interestingly yesterday I saw a Dutch Politician state that their armed forces should also be supporting Britain and France in securing Europe's interests. As well as supporting the Arab coalition's efforts to stabilize the region, there is also the reliance on energy that was previously provided by Russia. We saw what unstable energy supply does to household bills once the price of oil and gas goes up..

That's an extremely shallow point of view, that is simply wrong. International interest IS national interest. No country exists in a vacuum. So far history knows no successes among isolationist-type policies, reforms, and grand strategies. They all lead to more and bigger issues.
