30 years using credit cards. Never once didn’t pay it off in full. Treat it like a debit card. Only buy what you have.

Don’t forget, before cutting up credit cards, call the credit card company and cancel your credit card. If you just cut them up and don’t call them, the card is still active, and identity theft can happen.

Yes, credit card interest is monthly.
But the question is "what is APR" which is distinctly not monthly. APR is literally the conversation of monthly interest into annual interest.
Not a great question, but it is an important concept.

I didn’t have a credit card until I was 26, and now at 34, I’ve never paid interest because I have always paid off the balance every month. It was drilled into me by my parents never to get into credit card debt or take out student loans, so I’ve never done either.

Credit card interest is compounded daily….. You just pay it monthly. Daily compounding and monthly compounding is exponentially different.

Saying you have to deal with APR every time you swipe your credit card is as wrong as saying you have to deal with overdraft fees every time you use a debit card.

A lot of people get credit cards knowing they can't pay them off. So it's not like people get them and think well I'll never pay interest.

Yeah, sometimes. I get why you generalize. You're trying to reach the average American and I applaud you for that. However, at times, maybe consider being a little less harsh on those that have their credit cards, use them responsibly and are actually taking advantage of the card rather than the card taking advantage of them.

I have had the same credit card account since 1989. I use it for everything I buy, get money back and I have never paid a dime if interest. I always pay it off each and every month. Card or no card. You either have it within yourself to be a responsible person or not. That card has actually made me a good bit of free money over the years. 😊
