I'd give it a try. You could just scrape off any stuck garlic with a knife, like you do with any other garlic press. I like how it has the little collection bin below.

Garlic presses are terrible, you lose half of the clove because it's almost impossible to get it unstuck from the blade without scrubbing it with a brush of some kind. This might be great with the little cleaning thing, you won't waste as much.
