Flux cure IS MIG
100% of all flux cure welding uses a shielding gas that does not allow oxygen to react with the molten metal. Name me one that does not, you can't because that is its definition. the "inertness" of the shielding gas is not part of the definition of mig over flux core. MIG (METAL INERT GAS) it does not matter where it comes from, from a flux built into the wire of a tank of whatever you weld with. Its time you opened up a text book and stop breathing all that zink fumes !
DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE "First and foremost, both of these methods use a spool of wire to provide the filler metal to the weld, but the primary difference is in the type of wire. MIG welding uses a solid wire, whereas flux core welding wire is tubular and inside the tube is flux, hence the name."
NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHIELDING USED.
Flux core is a type of MIG welding. You only have STICK, MIG, TIG, Stir, Friction, and a few other special welding. Flux core is NOT ONE OF THEM.
