Okay. I love this being normalized in a discussion, but wow the looks on some of the other peopleโs faces as heโs speaking. Was that the showโs editors or were their shoes too tight? Why the faces to what heโs saying? I feel like this illustrates how much people do still stigmatize mental illness. Their expressions look like they think heโs just making excuses. Which is a common toss at people with bipolar disorder. That it isnโt real or that people use it as an excuse to be jerks. It is real. It isnโt an excuse. But it does affect behavior. And even though itโs a medical condition, heโs taking accountability and working to improve his health. I suppose the show is founded on eye roll ethos, though. So nice to see this addressed with such a level of normalcy rather than sensationalization.
