Here, we travel solo, not stupid👇🏼

This reel is about something I care about a lot when it comes to solo travel, especially if you’re sharing parts of your life online like I do. 💕

1. I never post in real time. If you see me share a location or a view, I’ve already left. That moment already happened. I’ve already moved on.

Call me paranoid, but I don’t want strangers knowing exactly where I am at the time I’m there. It just doesn’t feel good. 🤷🏼‍♀️

And yeah, it sucks sometimes because I want to share things as they happen, but I’d rather feel safe than feel exposed. It’s just not worth the risk for me.

I also never show the place I’m staying. No apartment content, no shots of the street outside, no view from the window (or at least limited) while I’m still there. That’s one of those things that feels harmless until it isn’t. If someone recognizes that building or street, that’s already too much. 🥸

2. I also use a VPN. Always. Especially on public Wi-Fi, which is something I try not to use. Cafés, hostels, airports, coworking spaces. You don’t know who’s connected to the same network or what kind of access they have. 💻

A VPN protects your passwords, your files, your messages, all the things you don’t want floating around just because you connected to the same Wi-Fi as a stranger.

It also helps when content is blocked or weirdly restricted depending on where you are, so that’s a bonus. 🔗

3. And finally, I share my location with family, all the time. I make sure at least one person knows where I am. Someone needs to know where I am in the world. 🌎

Especially if I’m going hiking or taking a long bus ride or arriving somewhere late at night. It’s just something I do every time now.

💕✨None of this is about fear. It’s just about staying aware and not putting yourself at risk for no reason. It’s easy to forget how visible we are online. I’d rather be a little careful than a little too open.

What are your thoughts on this?🧐
❓How do you keep safe online while solo traveling?
