…if you did an ounce of research you’d know they were livebearers

Some small cichlids like angel fish will keep the populations down. And baby guppies are the perfect breeding food for them. Put some plants in the aquarium so some survive. This way you can turn baby guppies into a more valuable fish. 😊

If you have a saltwater tank with predatory animals, guppies goes both way and could become food for them. They are a brackish water fish and can be turned into a salt water fish when slowly introduced to salt water. It's somewhat of a common practice to use them as a feeder fish in predator tanks because of their crazy fast breeding abilities.

I am currently having a similar issue, but I knew fully well that they're prolific breeders. I just got some bumblebee gobies for population control.

Oh my god the released guppies ate all the food and drank all the water

Or you can buy larger predator fish which will be very happy about the babies😊

That actually happened in a river in Germany near a nuclear power plant because the water is warm even during winter. Now there are guppys, cichlidae and loads of other fish in there.

The larger the black spot on her belly, the closer she is to giving birth. Get a rope fish or a swamp eel. I recommend eel because they are smart and wonderful. Don't release the eel because they also will ruin nature, but cool .

Lovely pretty live food, they can survive in saltwater for a while and thrive in warm brackish water making them great food and enrichment for saltwater predatory fish, and the fry can be used to trigger the breeding behavior of small predators like Bettas Gouramis danios tiger barbs and pea puffers like how over feeding bloodworms and Coldwater partial waterchanges trigger cory catfish spawning behaviors

Here where I live we have a guppy river. Everywhere else the water freezes to much in winter but there the water keeps warm so they breed like crazy😊

I would love some guppies!
We have a 55 gallon and a midland painted turtle that also needs entertainment.

Heck no. Where I’m from, people are desperate for these little dudes. They don’t always breed so quickly and sometimes the big females have so many live young, they pass shortly afterwards

Female guppies hold sperm and self fertilize whoever they decide to produce more babies. I’ve had guppies that never saw a male in my aquarium and still give birth. Make sure if you want pretty guppy fish but no babies, buy males only.
