Videos like this make me so thankful for cinema 4d's UI, it's dynamic settings window is so goated, anytime you select a tool you automatically see all options avaliable and can naturally learn just by playing, instead of looking up shortcuts or menu locations for tool adjustments

Or after you select you just I to extrude inward then E extrude outward and S scale on individual originins, and you get the same outcome faster and simpler, you are overcomplicating simple things to look smart

You can also press ALT + E, basically does the same thing. Shows you advanced extrude options
