I don't understand why it bothers people so much if people use plant based cheese, etc. it doesn't matter if someone calls a plant based product cheese or butter. And not everyone is vegan or vegetarian because they don't want to eat animals, you can be vegan or vegetarian for other reasons. I'm vegetarian because I don't digest dairy well and I get sick from meat, poultry and fish. I like buying products that mimic the stuff I used to eat because I miss being able to eat them. Calling something vegan butter or vegan cheese can make it easier for people, it familiarises it

Why use fake animal products, like “dairy-free butter” and fake beef broth? It seems like if you’re going to be vegan, go ALL the way. Don’t use things designed to replicate the taste (or feel, in the case of leather) of animal products. It’s like you’re admitting animals have purposes that require them to live in servitude to humans, or give up their lives for humans.
