Tse Chi Lop was born in 1963 in Communist China and emigrated to Canada with his fiancée in 1988 when he was 25. They married there and had two children. His drug career began in the early 1990s whem he ran a smuggling network, supplying heroin from the troubled Golden Triangle, where the borders of Myanmar, Thailand, China and Laos meet.
