Fun fact, the whole hood is always carbon. It’s hand painted on because not only aerodynamics, but also weight reduction. Since they took off every logo on the exterior. It’s like a $15k option.

It is painted on because of the carbon fiber hood. A real metal badge needs a dent in the hood to fit in. That is difficult to do with a carbon fiber hood. Weight saving is not really the reason, although it technically does save weight.
