The sponge helps to press in the EXACT SPOT you have your Napkin for a seemless application! It works best with Napkins and thin papers that have porus surfaces!! It grabs extra medium that may seep through and sit on top your napkin causing issues.
When the sponge has been used as much as it can be over time it will become hard making it perfect to cut up and reuse as tiny pouncers to apply paint. Saving money in another area of crafting so we can buy more napkins....lol
