Hi, great idea. Hopefully there’s no off gassing or another chemical, plastic to stop the off gassing. The wire rope in the bead is steel which is the most recycled material on the planet. I have also seen where the whole tire are laid flat and then filled with gravel with/ without wire mesh added to help hold them in place for soil erosion. Someone commented why not make the tires last longer. The issue is you can, however when for example racing tires are very soft to get hot and stick to the road or track. For more durable tires they add carbon black and other compounds to harden the tires. In doing so this makes the tires so they don’t stick to the roads. They could make the tires so hard that even driving on clean dry roads would almost be like driving on ice. No traction. The tires made now are a middle ground between the two. There’s research going on to make an airless tire, which would last much longer. So far that research has found in doing so the smooth ride is highly compromised.

It is very commendable that you are taking necessary action and recycling tires for utility purposes. The finished prodùcts work well on playgrounds and it has been used at dog parks in lieu of grass for more sanitary conditions. As for the cancer causing agent, it's choosing one environmental solution with a workable product or allowing a graveyard to pile up in landfills, which might cause toxins to be released and dry rotting with extreme summer heat temperatures. Environmentalists know for sure. Thank you for sharing and your ingenuity is noteworthy. ✨️ 🏆

Girl I love it but where is the PPE for your worker?!?!
I get what others are saying about the cancer rates but that’s coming from a first world perspective, in the slums of Africa electronics are regularly burned in bonfires to collect the metal, releasing toxic fumes and poison. A factory thats able to make use of these materials and provide jobs is a huge bonus to their communities. Bravo!

Great idea, that is an answer now! I applaud the business, seeing a way to deal with it, instead of continuing to ignore it. (Could we charge for recycling, when we sell the tire initially? It makes sense to do that.)
How long do tire driveways and walkways stand up to time, there, and in colder countries, like mine? Cement drives look good, but break down with use, and need repairs from wear and frost heave, and we apply salt to keep free from ice. Great job starting out, and taking a chance on a business to learn more about this answer. I hope the business succeeds big time, and you find a way to make this business pay off!! Kudos!

We do this in the States, too, but they're shredded into chunks and left as rubber mulch for playgrounds. If I recall correctly, they stopped doing it because they found out that the rubber gets too hot sitting in the sun and "off gases", it releases toxic fumes that are harmful to the kiddos. Hopefully they have some sort of solution for this in their brick project.
