Start location: Glen Doll car park. Parking is £3 all day and there are toilets at the rangers lodge.

Distance: 5 miles

Ascent: 267 m

Terrain: forest tracks opening out to a narrow, well established path through the bowl of Corrie Fee.

Break spot: when you get to the edge of the forest and it opens out to the beautiful view of Corrie Fee there is plenty of space and enough big rocks to pick a seat and stop for a coffee and snack! You can decide here if you want to venture to the back of the corrie bowl, which we did, or turn around for a slightly shorter route (around 4.5 miles total).

As dad has not long had a new knee, he took a walking pole to feel more secure on slopes. It’s an undulating path, with a couple of moderately steep sections.

I’m going to share the routes of all the hikes dad and I do, so follow along if you’re looking for a series of easier walks. They will progress in difficulty along with dads rehab and will always have the most beautiful views we can find!
